It will be a sad day when I pick up my kid from school with a note saying that Eli called the teacher a butthole and will not be able to come back until his language improves.

"Holesome" Talk
There are some days when I think Eli is really well behaved. He says please and thank you and can shake hands and say "Nice to meet you" in both English and Spanish. I like all these things. Then there are days like these when I think there is no way this kid is going to be allowed in preschool next month. He is going to get kicked out the minute he opens his mouth. Tonight I had some evidence for this line of thinking. As we sat down to dinner at my mom's house, Mark made some affectionate comment to Eli like, "Eli, did you know that you are my favorite boy ever?" The correct response would be something like "Thank you, Daddy" or "Yes I am aware". But instead what came out of Eli's mouth, totally without warning, was, "Daddy, you are a butthole." Everyone stood in the kitchen in a moment of shock. I turned away and tried to stifle a giggle. I couldn't believe he just said that. He knows that word as a part of his anatomy, not as an insult. Where that came from, who stinking knows. After I recovered from shock and a giggle attack, I quickly reprimanded Eli for his words. I let him know that word is only to be used in reference to bathroom activity and not for people.

Thought this was so funny that I read it to Troy. Eli stories are so funny. You might be bored with Marena, I have no idea how to spell that please correct me. My spell check gave me lots of options but I did not know which to choose. Anyway, I miss you and I am glad you are well.
