Today, a very sad thing happened. We got a letter from the IRS saying there was a problem with our Illinois tax return. We have been waiting for our jackpot refund to drop in our checking account for months. This letter said there had been an error on our filed papers and that rather than scoring a goldmine, we would be owing Illinois $23.09. This is not good news. The result of this revelation will be a golfless summer for Mark and Lily Clinton. We had planned to buy a golf season pass with the refund money. Oh this is a very dark day. My clubs will sit in the hall closet next to my guitar and vacuum, feeling very neglected...
Woe is me.
