I'm often writing about all the shocking and terrible things my children do but I neglect to mention some of fantastic things (probably because they are not usually as funny).
But believe me, there are plenty of wonderful things my kids do every day. They fill my heart with much love.
Today, for example Eli told me a fabulous story. It went something like this:
Eli: "Mommy, yesterday ___ (girl from school) pulled up her dress and showed everyone her underwear."
Me: "Oh yeah? Hmmm."
Eli: "Then everyone started laughing at her. But I didn't laugh at all."
Me: "You didn't?"
Eli: "No, because when you are a good friend, you don't laugh at your friends."
Then he went on to tell me that he will never laugh at other people, especially when they are showing everyone her/his underwear.
At that moment, I was so proud of my little boy and his compassionate little heart. At 4 years old (nearly 5), he already has an admirable character.
It is especially impressive considering the mother he has. I (unfortunately) take many opportunities to laugh at others. If I saw one of my friends pull up her dress and show everyone her underwear, I would likely laugh myself sick. I often joke that I was elected "Most Friendly" in high school. Those who know me well can laugh at that idea (I didn't get elected that, in case you were wondering).
For today, I am one proud mama. Even if I'm not really that nice, my son sure is (depending on the day... and I'm choosing THIS day!).

I probably would have laughed at 31, so I'd say he's pretty nice. ;)
