Absurd: Thy Name is Friday

I would say that I have a great appreciation for the absurd.

Today I encountered two things that caused me to chuckle.  The first one was blowing around in our parking lot when the kids and I returned from some lengthy (and crabby!) errands we were enjoying together (why Marina wouldn't want to spend an hour wandering around Target is beyond me!  And by the way, do you think there is a problem with recycling Corona bottles with lime wedges stuck in them??  I couldn't get them out, it was like those ships they stuff in bottles).

[Meanwhile, back at the parking lot] Eli spotted a sheet of notebook paper covered in scrawled handwriting.  Of course he chased it down and presented it to me.  I, being the snoopy chismosa (see Spanish translation) that I am, read it to see if it was a love letter or maybe even a ransom note.

What it said was awesome.  I'm including a picture and the transcripts.

If you have trouble reading it, it says:

"Even though you have hit my truck on several occasions + never been nice to me or my girlfriend I can rise above your attitude + be neighborly + let you know that you have a flat tire.
God Bless you Both.  (your neighbors)"

Clearly these are not my neighbors, though it gave me a minute of panic when I realized my neighbor has a truck (that I have not hit!).  The writer gives an address on the bottom of the page from whence it must have blown.

I have to respect a rampant act of passive aggressiveness!

The second sighting, and perhaps less amusing, was a fabulous t-shirt I saw on a man at a restaurant who was clearly on a date [maybe a first date??].

It read:
I hope you like
ANIMALS
because I'm a
BEAST!

Hmmm... he certainly didn't look like someone who was about to ravish his date.  He looked more like he was offering to do her taxes, or figure out the molecular configuration of the sweet potato fries she was eating.  I hope it worked out for the overly confident chap who feels the need to declare his virility.

As usual, Friday always presents me with some kind of delight.  I can't wait until next week.  Mark is out of town.  Lily vs. Two Kids X 3 Days = a recipe for blog content.
