Just One More Thing

Oh yeah, as an addition to my last post about our awkward trip to Sam's Club...

As we were leaving the store, armed with our huge box of tampons and bags of coffee, we were walking toward the exit where the lady checks your cart and marks up your receipt.  Since it was Saturday and fairly busy, there were a lot of people all converging to form a line.  In front of us was a slow-moving, older Asian couple (who were remarkably cute!).

As we all shuffled, Eli chose that time to yell out, "LET'S PASS THESE STINKIN' WEIRDOS!"

That was also the time when I quickly covered his mouth and urgently lectured (once again) about social graces and how they don't include yelling at people and calling them weirdos, no matter how slow they are moving.  I then flashed an apologetic smile to those around us and felt a little sweat trickle down my face.

I used to think that all families contained hyper-active, mouthy kids; mine certainly did when I was growing up.  But evidence is starting to suggest that this might not be the case.  We might make up a small sample of society that is socially awkward and chronically shocking those around them.

But even if that's true, we do seem to have the best stories...
