Cart Me Away

Ever run into a casual acquaintance while grocery shopping and feel a bit self-conscious about the contents of your cart while you make small talk in the aisle?

Today at Sam's Club, Eli and I were shopping our little hearts out when we ran into someone I knew.  I stopped to greet him and then introduced Eli.  My son was buried in the cart under hundreds of bulk items.  As the introductory words left my mouth, I turned to look at my son and noticed a giant pink box right next to his head.  This is what my eyes (and those of my acquaintance) took in.

Eventually the awkward small talk drew to a close.  He said something like, "I'll let you get back to filling your cart with the rest of the things you need," and glanced back one last time at Eli and the jumbo pack of tampons behind him.

Oh well, at least it wasn't something like jumbo size heavy flow pads, or incontinence underwear;  those are on my list for next week...
