Asking for Multitasking

As I am a mother, I tend to multitask with great skill. Unfortunately, I don't always know when to stop multitasking and start single-tasking. For instance, to save time every night, in my bedtime prep routine, I brush my teeth and go pee at the same time (on the toilet, not standing at the sink).  Mark often walks by and laughs at me (we are an open-door kind of house) but I bet he admires my efficient time use and wishes he could pee and brush his teeth simultaneously (ha!).

I also eat and put make up on at the same time, often resulting in greasy eyelids and concealer flavored sandwiches.

I eat ice cream and do a workout, or immediately before or after, resulting in a vomity feeling, in addition to my post workout discomfort.

I also like to use my daily commute to maintain the health of my gums and teeth.  I keep floss in the center console of my car.  I drive and floss, floss and drive.  People who stop next to me at a stop light often give me a look of disgust (I like to think they are jealous of my good looking snaggle teeth). Since I don't have a garbage can or bag in my car (I drive a Civic, not a conversion van), most wrappers, kleenex and various throw away items (old floss, gross!) go in the side of my door for removal at a later date.  Today, I came outside to go to work and found the flossing evidence staring me in the face.  Oh well, at least my teeth aren't rotting out.

Someday, when I have an interview and they ask me to provide an example of a time I had to multitask and to describe the outcome, I can use all of these things as my example and let them know that the outcome is a highly productive person with clean teeth.  I bet they'll offer me the VP position...
